Stadium:
LP Field
Located in the Music City, the Tennessee Titans play in one of the NFL’s best stadiums. However, the team has not always played in the best stadiums prior to moving into The Coliseum. After 30 years of playing in Houston, TX at the Astrodome, the team, then known as the Houston Oilers, wanted a new football only stadium in the mid 1990’s. After numerous attempts to get a stadium failed, the team decided to move to Nashville, TN. There was one problem, Nashville did not have a stadium ready for the team by the time they moved in 1996. While a new stadium was being constructed in Nashville, the Titans played at the Liberty Bowl and Vanderbilt Stadium.

Season Preview:

The Titans continue to give themselves options at corner for what's likely to be a full year without Pacman Jones. They snagged Kelly Herndon with a three-year contract. Agent Peter Schaffer said general manager Mike Reinfeldt, and especially Lake Dawson, one of Reinfeldt's front office hires, really made Herndon feel he had a great opportunity. Reinfeldt, Dawson and Herndon all worked for the Seahawks last year. Reinfeldt said the Titans really like Herndon as a physical and experienced nickel. He joins three other newcomers at cornerback -- Nick Harper, first round draft pick Michael Griffin and sixth-round draft pick Ryan Smith. According to Reinfeldt, Griffin will remain at corner even with Herndon in the fold. The four new corners join youngsters Reynaldo Hill and Cortland Finnegan, who have played significant snaps so far. The Titans still also have Erick King, Michael Waddell and Andre Woolfolk, the first-round bust from 2003. "We have a number of players that all have unique skills and abilities and maybe in some combination really makes the group work and gives us a better chance to replace what we lost (with Pacman's suspension)," Reinfeldt said. "...We weren't necessarily looking for another corner. But when Kelly became available it was something we had to consider and we would do that at most of the positions on our team, especially defensive end and wide receiver... If something is available, we'll move on it." The injury Hendon suffered in Seattle's regular season finale has healed, Reinfeldt said, though he's not yet in football shape. He's likely to do limited work at the team's final off-season minicamp the week of June 18. Sportsline.com
